This Privacy Policy explains how TradeQuote ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you use our website at TradeQuote and our SaaS application. By using TradeQuote, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Who We Are

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide directly:

• Account registration: your name, email address, and password (stored as a hashed value — we never store raw passwords)
• Business profile: business name, business address, phone number, and logo URL
• Client data: names and email addresses of your clients that you enter into the app
• Quote and invoice content: job descriptions, line items, pricing, and notes that you create

2.2 Information collected automatically:

• Log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, time and date of visits
• Device information: device type, operating system
• Cookies: session cookies required for authentication (see Section 7)

2.3 Payment information:

We do not collect or store your payment card details. All payment processing is handled by Razorpay (https://razorpay.com) or Gumroad. When you subscribe, the payment gateway processes your payment and we only receive a subscription confirmation and status. Please review their Privacy Policy for how they handle your payment data.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the TradeQuote service
• Process your subscription and billing
• Send you transactional emails (quote confirmations, invoice deliveries, account notifications)
• Respond to your support requests
• Improve and personalise the product
• Comply with legal obligations under Indian law

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not share your client data with anyone.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Supabase (https://supabase.com), a PostgreSQL database platform. Supabase is SOC 2 Type II certified.

We implement the following security measures:

• All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption
• Passwords are hashed using bcrypt (handled by Supabase Auth)
• Each user's data is isolated using Row Level Security (RLS) at the database level
• API keys and secrets are stored as environment variables, never in code

Despite these measures, no internet transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Sharing

We share your data only with the following third-party services required to operate TradeQuote:

We do not share your data with any other third parties.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data: email us and we will provide a copy within 30 days
• Correct inaccurate data: update your profile in Settings at any time
• Delete your account and data: email us with the subject "Delete my account" and we will permanently delete all your data within 30 days
• Export your data: email us to request a data export in CSV format

7. Cookies

We use only functional cookies required for the application to work:

• Authentication cookie: keeps you logged in (session cookie, deleted when you log out or close browser)
• CSRF cookie: protects against cross-site request forgery attacks

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or analytics cookies that share data with third parties.

8. Children's Privacy

TradeQuote is not directed at children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by a prominent notice in the app. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.

10. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.
